Three really easy craft ideas for Christmas presents

Dear parents, grandparents and all those who enjoy crafting with children,
When it comes to presents, there is nothing more heartfelt and personal than something which our creative little ones have made themselves.

Today we would like to show you three wonderful gift ideas from profawo that you can make at home with your children. They are original, require little preparation, and are perfect for children to make.

These gift ideas are not just a great way to nurture creative skills; they are also a wonderful opportunity for spending time with your loved ones.

Gift idea 1: Small effort, big impact  - the painted umbrella

We all love receiving gifts, especially homemade ones. But unfortunately we are often short of time. This is why we have come up with a great idea that doesn't require much effort for a big impact.

Umbrellas are like socks – at some point you wonder where they have all gone. That's why both grandparents and godparents will be delighted to receive this gift.

What it needs:

  • A black or navy umbrella,
  • A white, waterproof textile marker.

How to do it:

Open the umbrella and place it between two chairs so that your child can draw on it. If he or she doesn't have any ideas, you can also draw some baubles for the child to colour in with patterns. Otherwise, anything looks beautiful – a Christmas tree, a bird, animals or snowflakes. It is best to leave every other panel blank. Not only does this save time, it also looks particularly effective.

Gift idea 2: The finishing touch -  the flower salt in the soup
Edible gifts taste good and always get used. It is very quick and easy to flavour salt yourself.

 What you need:

  •  Edible flowers (available in the spice aisle of the supermarket
  • Salt (Himalayan salt is wonderfully pink)
  • Small preserving/jam jar, salt mill if desired

How to do it:
Mix the salt and the flowers together, shredding a little if desired. Transfer into the preferred container and let the child design a label. Their imaginative skills are required. How about "Stella's Happy Salt"?

Gift idea 3: Keyring made from shrink film

If your child likes to draw, you don't have to do much more than turn the oven on for this gift. You can buy the material at a DIY shop.

What you need:

  • Shrink film
  • Keyring with a ring

How to do it:
Get your child to draw something on a piece of paper. It needs to be fairly big because the shrinking process makes the drawing 30 percent smaller. Animals – such as a penguin or a polar bear – are good, while baubles are easier. Trace the drawing onto the film, leave a five-millimetre border and punch out a hole with a hole punch. Then cut it out and allow it to shrink in the oven according to the instructions. Then attach it to the key ring.

A wonderful side effect: learning and laughing together
Crafting with children is not only a great opportunity for learning and laughing together, but also for creating unforgettable memories. Our gift ideas are easy to implement, encourage creativity and bring great joy to every recipient. We hope these ideas inspire you to spend many creative hours with your children!

These were our tips for homemade gifts. profawo wishes you hours of fun with your loved ones.
